The States of the north east

Brazil is a federal republic composed of 27 states grouped into five large regional administrations. The region of the north east of Brazil is made up of nine states (see map): Maranhao, Piauí, Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraiba, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe y Bahía, but the most interesting and privileged area of this region is the north east coast, specifically the area between the north of Fortaleza (the capital of the state of Ceará) and the south of Maceió (capital of the state of Alagoas).
